Overview:

The XR Architecture Team at Qualcomm is on the lookout for a systems engineer to spearhead the development of cutting-edge technologies and frameworks that will drive the future of Virtual Reality and Mixed Reality applications. The ideal candidate will engage in the following responsibilities:

  • Analyze the use cases and foundational design processes of AR/VR and associated technologies, with a particular emphasis on perception technologies.
  • Utilize internal simulation environments and modeling tools to assess the performance of SoC components in alignment with established key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Develop and/or refine system-level simulation models that encapsulate the design processes of AR/VR perception algorithms, simulating prospective configurations and scenarios.
  • Collaborate with system architecture and algorithm design/implementation teams to validate power and performance KPIs through simulation models.
  • Grasp the SoC components and architectural elements that influence the performance of AR/VR perception algorithms, translating these insights into future design evolution.
  • Partner with technology experts from extended engineering teams to gain insights into the current and future design/implementation of perception technologies on SoCs.

Qualifications:

For this interdisciplinary role, the ideal candidate should possess experience in AR/VR, computer vision, machine learning, perception, camera technology, SoC architecture, and/or system modeling (power, performance, thermal).

Preferred Qualifications:

  • A Master's degree with 3+ years of experience or a PhD in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in architecture/design in the specified areas.
  • Proficiency in conducting simulation/modeling, power/performance analysis, and/or software-hardware trade-offs.
  • Familiarity with perception technologies, particularly in AR/VR, computer vision pipelines, machine learning methodologies, and/or camera pipelines.
  • Experience with system-level modeling (performance and/or power).
  • Exceptional problem-solving capabilities.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Proficiency in C/C++ and/or Python.

Minimum Qualifications:

• A Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field.

Compensation:

The pay range for this position is between $97,000 and $145,000. This range reflects the broad, minimum to maximum pay scale for this job code. In addition to salary, Qualcomm offers a competitive annual discretionary bonus program and opportunities for annual RSU grants.
