The Vision Products Group (VPG) is seeking skilled engineers to contribute to the development of next-generation text input methods for our platform.

This team is at the forefront of utilizing Apple's cutting-edge technologies, including spatial computing, augmented reality (AR), and machine learning (ML).

As a member of our team, you will play a pivotal role in creating innovative text input solutions that enhance productivity for millions.

Role Responsibilities:
As an engineer on the Vision Pro Text Input team, you will significantly influence the design and implementation of the keyboard and dictation functionalities on Apple's spatial computing platform. This role will challenge you to think creatively and collaborate closely with designers and system software teams to tackle complex challenges.


As a fundamental aspect of the user experience on Vision Pro, the keyboard will incorporate familiar features from other Apple platforms, such as autofill, autocorrect, text editing, selection, and dictation.

In this role, you will help shape the evolution of these features and define new text input experiences unique to Vision Pro.

Required Qualifications:
- Minimum of 3 years of software development experience
- Proficiency in systems programming languages such as C/C++, Objective-C, Swift, etc.
- Proven ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and deliver consumer software.

Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in developing applications for Apple platforms like iOS, watchOS, or macOS
- Familiarity with UI frameworks such as UIKit and SwiftUI
- Understanding of challenges related to non-Roman text input
Educational Background:
- BS / MS / PhD in Computer Science or equivalent experience

Additional Requirements:
  • Experience in debugging and resolving issues in system processes and UI frameworks
  • Experience in developing user interfaces for AR/VR applications
  • Familiarity with AR/VR interfaces
  • Understanding of systems programming
Compensation and Benefits:
At Apple, base salary is just one component of our comprehensive compensation package, which is determined within a specified range. This structure allows for growth and advancement within your role.

The salary range for this position is between $135,400 and $250,600, depending on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.

Apple employees have the opportunity to become shareholders through participation in Apple's discretionary employee stock programs.

Eligible employees can receive discretionary restricted stock unit awards and may purchase Apple stock at a discount through the Employee Stock Purchase Plan.
