Torchy's Tacos is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Executive Chef Manager to lead our kitchen operations and ensure the highest quality of food and service. As a key member of our management team, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of our kitchen, including menu planning, inventory management, and staff supervision.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage food costs, inventory, and ordering to ensure efficient operations
  • Select, interview, and hire kitchen staff to meet staffing needs
  • Create and manage kitchen schedules to meet labor targets and sales projections
  • Verify that kitchen staff follow recipes, weigh prepped items, record production numbers, and portion servings correctly
  • Utilize mystery shop and assessment results to develop action plans for improving operations and food quality
  • Communicate effectively with kitchen staff, providing clear direction and motivation
  • Motivate and lead kitchen staff to support our company values
  • Run successful shifts and support daily store operations
  • Partner with the Learning & Development team to ensure kitchen staff are properly trained and certified

Requirements:

  • 3+ years of kitchen management experience
  • Required state alcohol-server and Manager ServSafe Certification
  • High-level understanding of training and development concepts
  • Ability to foster teamwork and leadership skills
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Excellent time management skills
  • Bilingual, a plus
  • Ability to lift, push, pull, or carry heavy objects up to 40 pounds
  • Ability to stand for several hours and walk for long periods of time
  • Ability to bend, stretch, twist, or reach for objects on shelves at various height levels
