Your expertise will be essential in troubleshooting and problem-solving, and you will be responsible for developing and modifying procedures to ensure the accuracy of tests. You will also be responsible for performing quality control procedures, documenting results accurately, and following through on outliers. Additionally, you will be responsible for notifying supervisors of any unusual or unexpected results and for reporting critical values to the appropriate person. You will be expected to maintain records in a complete, accurate, and legible manner and to assist with the orientation of new staff members, students, residents, and fellows. You will also be responsible for assuming the duties required for the smooth operation of the laboratory.

**Key Responsibilities:**

* Perform and evaluate complex laboratory tests in various areas of the clinical laboratory
* Work with minimal supervision, utilizing your in-depth understanding of complex precision instruments and automated equipment
* Troubleshoot and problem-solve, and develop and modify procedures to ensure the accuracy of tests
* Perform quality control procedures, document results accurately, and follow through on outliers
* Notify supervisors of any unusual or unexpected results and report critical values to the appropriate person
* Maintain records in a complete, accurate, and legible manner
* Assist with the orientation of new staff members, students, residents, and fellows
* Assume the duties required for the smooth operation of the laboratory

**Requirements:**

* Baccalaureate degree in a science required
* CLIA eligible for High Complexity Testing
* MT(ASCP) or equivalent preferred
* 3-5 years in a hospital laboratory experience preferred
