Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Data Engineer SME to join our team at Peraton. As a key member of our data engineering team, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining large-scale data processing systems and architectures. Your expertise will be crucial in ensuring the smooth flow of data through our systems, from data conditioning and format validation to data transformation and delivery to downstream consumers.

Responsibilities

• Support the development and maintenance of our ETL platform, ensuring data quality and integrity throughout the data pipeline.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement data architectures that meet the needs of our customers and stakeholders.
• Develop and maintain microservices that support data conditioning, format validation, and transformation, ensuring seamless integration with our existing systems.
• Work closely with our data scientists and analysts to ensure that our data systems meet their needs and provide accurate and timely insights.
• Stay up-to-date with the latest technologies and trends in data engineering, identifying opportunities to improve our systems and processes.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 16 years of experience in data engineering, with a strong background in software development and data architecture.
• Expert knowledge of NiFi and NiFi clusters, with experience in designing and implementing large-scale data processing systems.
• Strong grasp of microservices and their use within a distributed architecture, with experience in developing and maintaining microservices.
• Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to mentor and coach teammates and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with a strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.

Desired Qualifications

• Experience with containerization and orchestration tools such as K8s, with knowledge of automation tools such as Python, Powershell, Terraform, and Ansible.
• Familiarity with cloud environments such as AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud, with experience in developing and deploying cloud-based data systems.
• Knowledge of software development methodologies, including Agile and DevOps, with experience in leading software security accreditation processes.
• Experience in designing and delivering software solutions for the Sponsor, with a strong understanding of the Sponsor's needs and requirements.

Target Salary Range

$176,000 - $282,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
