Job Summary

UHealth Tower is seeking a highly skilled Registered Nurse 3 - Specialty to join our team. As a key member of our nursing staff, you will be responsible for delivering patient-centered care in a culturally competent manner, utilizing evidence-based standards of quality, safety, and service.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough assessments and document patient interactions and general observations, adhering to unit standards and considering age and cultural factors.
  • Administer and maintain accurate records related to medications and treatments, ensuring compliance with regulatory bodies, policies, and procedures.
  • Communicate the plan of care clearly and effectively to patients, families, and team members, ensuring timely and accurate information exchange.
  • Participate in the development of policies, procedures, protocols, and standards of care, examining and questioning treatment to ensure best practices.
  • Represent nurses by actively participating in committees and task forces, promoting nursing excellence and best practices.
  • Begins discharge planning upon admission, utilizing available resources to prepare patients for discharge and involving patients and their support networks in the plan of care.
  • Manage own work and time, prioritizing assignments to ensure timely completion and adapting to changing work demands and environments.
  • Evaluate other staff in the provision of care, providing concise and constructive feedback to employees and leadership.
  • Serve as a preceptor to students and new staff, as needed, and assume Charge Nurse or Resource Nurse responsibilities when required.
  • Initiate unit-level projects with significant impact on patient care, expense reduction, safety, and patient experience.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field.
  • Registered Nurse License and Basic Life Support Certification (BLS).
  • Minimum 4 years of relevant experience.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology, nursing care methods and procedures, and health and safety guidelines and procedures.
  • Ability to precept nurses and allied health staff, recognize, analyze, and solve problems, and maintain effective interpersonal relationships.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in both oral and written form.
