The Department of Neurology at the University of Missouri – Columbia is actively seeking a full-time Cognitive and Behavioral Neurologist to enhance our dynamic and expanding Neurology practice.

This role involves collaboration with two existing Behavioral Neurologists, both of whom hold significant leadership positions within the institution. The selected candidate will contribute to the expansion of our clinical services and research initiatives. Responsibilities will include clinical practice and some didactic teaching, with opportunities to mentor residents in clinic settings.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Become part of a neurology department comprising over 30 physicians and neuroscientists.
  • Engage in the department's growth, contribute to the education of medical students and residents, and pursue various academic and research interests.
  • Collaborate closely with Health Psychology for psychometric evaluations.
  • Utilize advanced imaging technologies, including PET and 7T MRI.
  • Enjoy a schedule with no night call requirements.
  • Standard working hours are Monday to Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM.
  • All academic ranks are available based on experience.

  • A dedicated 28-bed Neurosciences Center featuring a 6-bed Epilepsy Monitoring Unit (EMU).
  • A 30-bed Neurosciences Intensive Care Unit (ICU).
  • AANEM Lab Accreditation with Exemplary Status.
  • NAEC Level IV Epilepsy program.
  • DNV-Certified Comprehensive Stroke Center.
  • Certified MDA/ALS clinics.
  • An accredited Sleep Program.
  • An outpatient infusion center.

Academic Programs:

Our academic offerings include a neurology residency program and six ACGME accredited fellowship programs:

  • Endovascular Surgical Neuroradiology (with dual UCNS certification)
  • Sleep Medicine
  • Advanced Sleep Medicine
  • Vascular Neurology
  • Neuro Critical Care (with dual UCNS certification)

In addition to clinical roles, the NextGen Precision Health, MU Center for Translational Neuroscience, and Cognitive Neuroscience Laboratory provide extensive academic and research opportunities. Currently, there are established basic and translational research programs with over 30 clinical trials in Neurology.
