Job Summary:

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Registered Dental Hygienist to join our team at Burrell Behavioral Health. As a Registered Dental Hygienist, you will play a key role in providing preventative and therapeutic dental care, educating patients on oral hygiene, and assisting in various dental procedures.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform oral prophylaxis and provide oral hygiene instructions to patients.
  • Apply topical fluoride treatments and place sealants to protect against tooth decay.
  • Screen and evaluate patients for caries, periodontal pathology, oral cancer, and review medical history for thorough care.
  • Expose radiographs and perform supra and subgingival scaling along with root planing to maintain oral health.
  • Assist in periodontal surgical techniques and perform gross debridement for acute periodontal conditions.
  • Perform expanded duties where qualified, including administering local anesthetics for patient comfort.
  • Conduct oral health assessments and accurately document patient medical history and treatment details.
  • Deliver preventive and therapeutic dental treatments while maintaining detailed, accurate records in patient files.
  • Provide patient care with patience, compassion, and understanding, ensuring a positive experience.
  • Initiate and maintain comprehensive dental prevention and education programs to improve patient outcomes.
  • Assist in the training and development of dental assistants, enhancing team performance.
Education and/or Experience Qualifications:
  • Graduate of an accredited School of Dental Hygiene.
  • Licensed as a Registered Dental Hygienist by the State of Missouri.
  • Maintain current CPR certification.
  • Previous experience desired but not required.
  • Must be willing to become licensed in additional states beyond the current state of licensure.
  • Must be comfortable providing telehealth services to the individuals we serve.
Required License/Certification:
  • Registered Dental Hygienist license for the State of Missouri.
  • CPR certification.
Additional Qualifications:
  • Working knowledge of all phases of dental hygiene.
  • Skills in oral hygiene procedures and use of equipment, instruments, and materials.
  • Knowledge of preventative dentistry and ability to instruct patients both individually and in groups.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with patients and staff.
  • Strong communication and patient care skills.
