Job Summary

Responsibilities
  • Provide rapid evaluation and treatment of patients in the Emergency Department
  • Communicate effectively with the care team to ensure seamless patient care
  • Identify clinical priorities and initiate action to improve patient outcomes
  • Maintain a safe and therapeutic environment for patients and staff
  • Act as a patient advocate and communicate effectively with patients and families
  • Utilize triage skills to prioritize incoming patients and facilitate efficient care
  • Perform basic data collection and prepare patients for examination
  • Facilitate blood draws and starting of IVs as ordered
  • Transport patients as needed throughout the facility
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Completion of OEMS-approved training and competency program for Paramedic and current North Carolina Paramedic Certification
  • Certification in BLS, ACLS, PALS
  • Six months experience in a pre-hospital environment as a Paramedic
Work Environment

This is a per diem position, requiring a commitment to provide availability to work at least 24 hours/month and at least one summer and one winter holiday. The shifts are typically 12 hours and include rotating days, nights, and weekends with flexible self-scheduling to meet the needs of the Paramedic and unit.
