Position Overview:
As a key player in the logistics sector, you will be responsible for managing the domestic and international transportation of materials, sub-assemblies, finished goods, maintenance supplies, and general inventory. This role allows for both personal and professional development within a dynamic environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the shipping process for external order fulfillment through Reservations, Purchase Orders, and Sales Documents in the ERP system.
- Assess shipping methods by leveraging knowledge of logistics procedures, routes, and pricing.
- Prepare all essential documentation, including labeling and packaging requirements, while communicating shipment details effectively.
- Work collaboratively with various departments to address any process discrepancies.
- Review freight invoices to confirm accurate billing and ensure timely ordering of export-related shipping supplies to avoid production interruptions.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization within the inventory management system.
- Execute shipments in compliance with DOT, IATA, OSHA, ICS, and SOP standards, ensuring order accuracy.
- Serve as a backup for all warehouse operations, including shipping, receiving, and customer service as required.
- Contribute to departmental continuous improvement initiatives.
- Assist with additional tasks as necessary.
Required Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or AA/AS degree (or equivalent 2-year post-secondary training) with a minimum of 4 years of relevant experience.
- Must meet the criteria for U.S. Person status.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Understanding of Inco Terms and familiarity with international and regulatory standards.
- Proficient in ERP systems, Microsoft Office Suite, and SAP.
- Experience collaborating with external vendors and managing logistics to ensure timely delivery within established shipping timelines.
