Warehouse Shipping Supervisor

Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Warehouse Shipping Supervisor to join our team at Parts Authority. As a key member of our logistics team, you will be responsible for overseeing the shipping and receiving operations, ensuring timely and efficient delivery of parts to our customers.
Key Responsibilities:
* Plan, guide, and direct staff members in an efficient and timely manner to meet customer demands and expectations
* Maintain a high level of shipping productivity and efficiency
* Directs and oversees the dispatch shipping process of picking, sorting, packing, and processing to meet customer deadlines
* Maintains a staffing level to accomplish the receiving mission in an effective and efficient manner
* Plans and coordinates work, trains and motivates, monitors and evaluates performance of dispatch associates
* Ensures the dispatch associates are capable of safely operate material handling equipment to move materials
* Monitors the loading of all merchandise; ensures merchandise are staged for speedy process, ensures shipping reports accurately report merchandise ready to ship
* Use the dispatch program to track orders from other stores and set up/ distribute runs to drivers
* Supports Dispatchers in ensuring that driver counts money collected and put delivery times on bills
* Work with Parts Pullers to help deliveries go out correctly
* Work with drivers and verifies they know the correct route
* Work with customers over the phone to update them on the status of their orders
* Properly assist drivers who have difficulty with routes or any other aspect of the job
* Work well with customers
* Assist in resolving discrepancies with accounting regarding invoices and shipping reports
* Monitors the flow of paperwork from inventory controls to shipping for timely data entry
* Monitors and measures performance
* Performs additional duties as assigned
Staff Management:
* Lead and supervise a team of shipping agents
* Counsels, records and discipline shipping associates as necessary
Supervise Operations:
* Maintain a meticulous standard for cleanliness, organization, and safety throughout the shipping department
* Maintain a safe working environment. Ensure that safety and compliance practices meet DOT and OSHA standards
* Maintain 5S warehouse principles are administered and followed on a routine basis
* Directs movement of shipments from shipping and receiving platform to shipping and work areas
Requirements:
* 2-3 years hands on supervisory experience required
* 1 year shipping/receiving experience
* Supervisory experience, team building
* Experience with WMS/inventory management system and RF technology
* Must possess ability to multi-task and adjust to dynamic order flow fluctuations as needed
* Must be a self-starter and possess the ability to identify areas drifting behind in production and proactively act to get back on track
* Experience in tracking metrics, including key performance indicators such as team member productivity
* Knowledge of automotive parts preferred
* Must have excellent skills in Microsoft Office applications
* Must possess outstanding customer relations skills
* Strong skills and experience in team/personnel management
* Excellent communication skills
* Demonstrated drive to achieve results
* Ability (with or without reasonable accommodation) to lift, push and pull up to 50 pounds, stand/ walk for up to 10 hours, able to squat, bend and reach, able to climb and descend stairs safely (applies to locations with stairs)
* Ability to work powered equipment (forklift, cherry picker etc.)
