This position collaborates closely with Systems Designers/Engineers and the Project Management team to ascertain technical specifications for project initiatives, ensuring our product offerings are well-suited to the client’s environment.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Craft high-level system designs with precision and professionalism during the pre-sales phase. This design work may encompass conducting site assessments, device evaluations, network architecture planning, server capacity analysis, drafting technical narratives and proposals, and compiling bills of materials.
  • Generate detailed design schematics and technical specifications for physical security, other building technologies, and the associated networking, server, and storage frameworks in partnership with clients and their representatives.
  • Create design documentation that will direct the technical installation and configuration of systems.
  • Formulate financial and logistical estimates, both independently and in collaboration with Paladin Technologies' sales, marketing, and project management teams.
  • Effectively manage multiple tasks and projects, prioritizing as necessary to meet deadlines.
  • Identify, establish, and document processes that enhance design efficiency and scalability.
  • Foster productive relationships with clients and key stakeholders to build trust and confidence in the organization’s capabilities.
  • Maintain awareness of the productivity and profitability of the work undertaken by the organization.
  • Pursue ongoing education and professional development in technology systems relevant to the technical disciplines you will oversee.
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • A minimum of three years of design experience in the information technology, instrumentation and controls, and/or security sectors.
  • Field experience in a construction setting is advantageous.
  • A solid understanding of the physical security and/or IT industries, including knowledge of complementary products, technologies, trends, and the general application of physical security technology.
  • Proficiency with the following technologies is essential:
    • Bluebeam Revu, IP networks, low voltage electronics, power and communications, Windows desktop operating system, Microsoft Office.
  • Comprehension of and experience with fundamental concepts related to IP networks, low voltage electronics, power, and communications.
  • Strong command of the English language, complemented by excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and projects simultaneously while being responsive to shifting priorities in a dynamic environment.
  • Post-secondary education from an accredited institution in Business, Construction Management, Electronics, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Preferred professional technical designation includes P.Eng, EIT, CET, or equivalent.
  • Highly developed analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Self-motivated individual with a drive to independently explore new technologies as well as engineering and business methodologies/concepts.
