Job Summary

We are seeking a Recreation Advisor to join our team at Phoenix Job Corps Center. As a Recreation Advisor, you will be responsible for collaborating with the Recreation team to offer students a comprehensive and diverse recreation program. Your role will involve overseeing the recreation activities as per the approved schedule, with an emphasis on promoting health and wellness.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement a diverse range of recreational activities, including sports, fitness programs, outdoor adventures, and team-building exercises.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive recreational environment that encourages personal growth, teamwork, and leadership skills.
  • Provide mentorship and guidance to students, helping them develop social skills, self-confidence, and resilience.
  • Collaborate with other departments to integrate recreational activities into the overall educational and vocational program.
  • Monitor and assess the progress of students, identifying areas for improvement and implementing strategies for positive change.
  • Maintain a safe and supportive environment for all participants, ensuring compliance with safety regulations and protocols.

Requirements

High School Diploma or equivalent required. Associates of Arts Degree or 1-year related experience working with youth. Must possess a valid in-State Driver's License and meet Company insurability requirements. CDL preferred.

Physical requirements include sitting, standing, climbing, walking, lifting, pulling and/or pushing, carrying, reaching, stooping and crouching. Demonstrates the ability to lift 40 pounds and / or the ability to assess the lift load in order to ask for necessary assistance.
