Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Machinist to join our team at Kratos Defense and Security. As a Machinist, you will be responsible for setting up, operating, and programming various types of machines, including HAAS, FADAL, and MATSUURA, to produce high-quality piece parts for shelters.

Key Responsibilities:

Set up and operate CNC machining centers to produce piece parts and parts for prototypes and machine maintenance.
Perform operations such as boring, counter boring, turning, tapping, threading, milling, drilling, reaming, broaching, chamfering, and deburing.
Assist with and/or construct fixtures, jigs, tools, soft vise jaws, and shop aids.
Use various measuring and inspection tools and equipment for piece part inspection, compliance, and accuracy verification.
Maintain a clean and safe work area.
Supply own machine shop/metal working hand tool and measuring tools.

Requirements:

High school graduate or equivalent.
Minimum 3 years of on-the-job experience setting up and operating Vertical Milling CNCs.
Basic knowledge of shop math, fraction and decimal conversion, and blueprint reading.
Ability to read and understand measuring and inspection equipment, tools, and intermediate blueprint reading.
Basic computer skills and CNC Mill Setup and Operations Certification from NIMS.

Work Environment:

The successful candidate will work in a shop floor environment, standing and sitting for long periods, performing repetitive motion, lifting up to 50 pounds, and tolerating constant noise.

Physical Requirements:

The successful candidate must be able to work safely in the presence of hazardous chemicals and hazardous conditions, follow standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
