Veterinary Medicine Specialist

Petco, a leading health and wellness company, seeks an experienced Hospital Veterinarian II to join our team of dedicated professionals. Our veterinary practice is committed to providing exceptional care to pets through comprehensive examinations, diagnoses, and treatments.
This role involves performing complex surgical procedures, collaborating closely with a medical team, and maintaining detailed medical records. The veterinarian will also contribute to the growth and quality standards of our veterinary practice.

Responsibilities:
- Provide excellent patient care by performing physical examinations, diagnosing and treating diseases, and providing preventive care.
- Utilize a problem-based approach to develop a complete problem list, differential diagnoses, diagnostic plans, and appropriate treatments.
- Document all patient observations, findings, treatments, and medications in the medical record.
- Perform routine and complex surgical procedures, including spays/neuters, abdominal exploratory, and mass removals.
- Develop treatment plans for patients undergoing day hospitalization and communicate effectively with referral hospitals.
Requirements:
- Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree or equivalent from an AVMA-accredited veterinary school.
- Active licensure as a veterinarian without contingencies in the state where the hospital is located.
- Current DEA license and Controlled Substance License, if applicable.
- USDA Category I Accreditation or completion within two months of hire date.
