Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Patient Care Assistant to join our team at Penn Medicine Lancaster General Health. As a Patient Care Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing direct, non-licensed patient care in accordance with established methods and procedures.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist with the delivery of patient care, including personal hygiene needs and activities of daily living
  • Provide a safe and clean environment for patients, including maintaining unit order and efficiency
  • Document patient information accurately and timely, according to unit/department standards
  • Report unusual situations, reactions, effects, or conditions related to patient care to the responsible person(s)
  • Assist with admission, transfer, and discharge procedures
  • Answer patient call lights independently, promptly, and to the patient's satisfaction
Requirements
  • High School diploma or equivalent (GED)
  • Completion of educational requirements, including formal education/training and yearly competency evaluation and training
  • Patient Care Certification required within 18 months of hire date
