Job Summary

We're seeking a highly proactive and results-driven Financial Leader to join our team as a Controller. This role will play a pivotal part in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of our financial information, providing strategic insights to senior management, and driving financial efficiency across the organization.

Responsibilities
  • Financial Reporting and Analysis: Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP. Provide insights into financial performance, variances, and trends to senior management, as well as reporting packages to our private equity partner.
  • Project Accounting and Billing: Participate in project reviews to ensure projects are performing in line with as-bid margin, support in identifying risk, and ensuring EACs are appropriately captured within monthly financial reporting.
  • Compliance and Risk Management: Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulatory requirements and filings. Oversee and manage relationship with outsourced tax firm to ensure ongoing compliance with all tax filings, corporate and indirect.
  • Cross-Functional Project Support: Collaborate with other departments on strategic initiatives and cross-functional projects, providing financial expertise and guidance. Evaluate financial implications of proposed projects and initiatives, ensuring alignment with corporate goals and financial objectives.
  • Team Leadership and Development: Manage and mentor the accounting and finance team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional development.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business administration with an emphasis in accounting, or a related field.
  • 7+ years of experience in accounting with experience in public accounting preferred and/or Professional certification, such as CPA (certified public accountant).
  • Previous experience as an accountant, accounting supervisor, or manager.
  • Excellent computer skills; experience in accounting software and proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adjust to changing priorities.
  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data.
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities with a track record of building and developing high-performing teams.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with senior management and external stakeholders.
