Job Title: Mechanical Engineer

Belcan is seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Engineer to lead a team in the redesign of Head Up Guidance Systems cast aluminum chassis components.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will be responsible for technical leadership of less experienced mechanical engineers, peer review of engineering work, task assignment, and reporting of status on all associated tasks.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead a mechanical engineering team in the redesign of Head Up Guidance Systems cast aluminum chassis components.
  • Technical leadership of less experienced mechanical engineers, peer review of engineering work, task assignment, and reporting of status on all associated tasks.
  • Work with Project Engineer to coordinate assignments and activities.
  • Technical review of sub-tier supplier hardware in accordance with engineering requirements.
  • Assign, review, and approve engineering drawing updates.
  • Present project status and team progress during leadership reviews.
Requirements:
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen or a Green Card Holder.
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering is preferred OR equivalent STEM degree with sufficient experience.
  • 6+ years of engineering design is required.
  • Experience in an engineering lead position is required.
  • Advanced skill with mechanical drawing GD&T is required.
  • Ability to read and interpret prints per ASME Y14.5.
  • Experience working within the guidelines of a quality management system.
  • Experience with aluminum castings is highly preferred.
  • Experience working in a quality-controlled environment is a desired.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Knowledge of investment casting processes and machining processes.
  • Experience working with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) / Material Resource Planning (MRP) systems, including but not limited to SAP.
  • Ability to lead collaborative teams on tactical and strategic discussions to drive results and break down barriers.
  • Experience working in a fast-paced environment.
