About the Job

We are seeking a highly skilled Journeyman Cybersecurity Engineer to join our team at IT Concepts. This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the development of innovative solutions in support of DOD SOCOM.

Responsibilities
  • Cybersecurity Measures: Develop, implement, and monitor security measures to protect computer systems, network software, and information to ensure secure, reliable, and uninterrupted availability.
  • Cyber Incident Response: Monitor, detect, mitigate, and respond to cyber incidents, performing operational cybersecurity and infrastructure support.
  • Cybersecurity Policy Enforcement: Implement and enforce cybersecurity policies and requirements to address identified vulnerabilities.
  • Security Certification and Testing: Conduct certification and testing following the Risk Management Framework (RMF) and National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) policy.
  • Risk Mitigation and Compliance: Identify deficiencies and vulnerabilities, providing risk mitigation recommendations while ensuring compliance with USSOCOM ICAM, PKI, ABAC, and RBAC capabilities.
  • Automation and Integration: Automate security and testing processes, integrating security tools and practices into the development pipeline, fostering a shared responsibility for performance and security.
Requirements

This role requires a Journeyman level candidate with a Bachelor's Degree and 3 - 10 years of relevant experience or equivalent qualifications.

Preferred Skills
  • Expertise in real-time monitoring tools (e.g., SIEM systems) and intrusion detection/prevention systems (IDS/IPS) to identify, analyze, and respond to cybersecurity threats.
  • Strong understanding of DoD-specific cybersecurity frameworks and standards, including the Risk Management Framework (RMF), NIST 800-53, and the Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification (CMMC).
  • Experience with Zero Trust (ZT) architectures, automated unit, functional, integration, and security testing.
  • Experience establishing and maintaining software factories that support the rapid development, testing, and deployment of software.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
  • Ability to work with teams but is self-motivated to complete projects independently.
