Key Responsibilities- Provide direct care to patients with mental health conditions, including assessment, treatment, and management of their care.
- Perform physical examinations, administer medications, and provide clinical supervision to Licensed Vocational/Practical Nurses and unlicensed assistive personnel.
- Respond to medical emergencies and render emergency care to stabilize patients and prevent deterioration.
- Participate in involuntary, court-ordered care, as required.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized care plans.
- Current, full, and unrestricted license as a Registered Nurse in the state in which the duty station is located.
- Minimum one year of professional experience as a licensed registered nurse in a hospital, medical office, or residential setting.
- Experience in a detention/correctional healthcare setting is preferred.
- Ability to work in a multi-cultural and multi-lingual environment, with strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Knowledge of regulations regarding the confidentiality of patient medical records and information, as well as Personally Identifiable Information (PII).
- Certified Correctional Health Professional, Certified Correctional Health Professional - Registered Nurse, or Certified Corrections Nurse credential.
- Verbal and written proficiency in Spanish.
- Experience in a detention/correctional or residential healthcare setting.
This position requires the ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, with a high level of flexibility and adaptability. The work may require standing for long periods, walking, or jogging unaided over rough surfaces, and recurring lifting of moderately heavy patients or equipment.
