About the Role

The Pump Field Service Manager will provide on-site and remote technical support to ensure quality installations for Rain Bird Pump Systems. This role requires a strong technical background and excellent communication skills to improve the quality of the pump service network throughout the US and international markets.

Key Responsibilities
  • Host formal training sessions for internal and external technicians, engineers, and customers to improve the level of training to our field service network.
  • Recruit talented field service personnel to grow the field service network and manage the performance of the external field service network.
  • Provide technical phone and email support to customers, distributors, and field personnel, as well as diagnostic troubleshooting of pumps, motors, filters, VFDs, PLCs, radios, cellular modems, and irrigation components.
  • Travel to work with on-site technicians as required for installation, maintenance, or repair projects and track, report, and follow-up on product and technical issues using established escalation processes.
  • Identify, document, and execute improvement projects to ensure field support personnel have adequate troubleshooting and operation manuals.
Requirements
  • S. Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
  • 15 years of relevant experience.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills: mechanical, electrical, and communications.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work closely with co-located and remotely located colleagues.
  • Understanding of integrated mechanical and electrical systems.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Fluency in Spanish or other foreign language(s).
  • Experience with programming to include Programmable Logic Controller, modem, radio, and VFD programming.
  • Irrigation, golf course service, and Golf/Landscape Central Control programming experience.
  • Experience in electrical or mechanical engineering.
  • Experience with personnel management and project management.
