POSITION SUMMARY

The Embedded Software/Firmware Engineer is accountable for the design, development, and troubleshooting of embedded software and firmware for both new and existing products. This role also involves enhancing operational efficiency and continuous improvement within the manufacturing domain by optimizing and automating processes and equipment.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

To excel in this position, the individual must effectively execute the following responsibilities:

  1. Design, validate, document, and manage software product designs.
  2. Collaborate with other engineering disciplines and sales teams to meet customer-driven requirements.
  3. Conduct troubleshooting for existing products both remotely and on-site.
  4. Support manufacturing and troubleshooting efforts for current and future products.
  5. Create and maintain documentation for software product upgrades tailored to customer-specific applications.
  6. Develop real-time embedded software that encompasses pressure control, sensor processing, machine learning, and advanced functionalities of vacuum valves.
  7. Implement automated testing to ensure high-quality software releases and functionality accuracy.
  8. Engage in the complete firmware development lifecycle from concept through integration, testing, and release.
  9. Architect a robust codebase that facilitates efficient scaling and reusability across various products.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

This role requires the ability to perform essential functions in a climate-controlled office environment with occasional manufacturing exposure. Physical activities may include lifting up to 50 lbs, walking, sitting, bending, and reaching.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

A degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or Electrical Engineering, combined with relevant experience in software engineering, is required.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

This position is primarily office-based, with the possibility of remote work under company guidelines.
