Job Summary

Piedmont Careers is seeking a highly skilled and experienced EVS Operations Manager to oversee the activities of assigned Environmental Services staff. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that assigned areas are properly cleaned and maintained in accordance with requisite standards of quality and safety.

Key Responsibilities

  • Directly oversee the activities of assigned Environmental Services staff to ensure compliance with quality and safety standards.
  • Assume responsibility for care of equipment, control of supplies, and counseling of employees.
  • Make decisions regarding staffing of EVS personnel for appropriate shift to ensure adequate coverage.
  • Directly supervise assigned teams, complete performance reviews in a timely manner, and administer corrective action under the direction of the Supervisors & Manager of Environmental Services.
  • Perform autonomous inspections and patient interviews on a daily and weekly basis, as well as administrative inspections on a weekly basis.
  • Monitor bed turn-around times to facilitate the timely flow of patients through the hospital.
  • Ensure that equipment and supplies are available and in working order, and troubleshoot equipment problems.
  • Check schedule and sign in sheets for daily changes and call-ins to effectively allocate staffing resources.
  • Perform daily shift huddles/meetings to ensure that employees are aware of existing problems and changes.
  • Attend in-services and training programs and disseminate the information gained back to others within the Environmental Services Department.
  • Compile list of maintenance work orders to be reported to Engineering on a daily basis.
  • Work on special projects and committees at the request of the Manager of Environmental Services, as well as any other duties as assigned.
  • Monitor the use of supplies by employees in the Environmental Services Department to ensure that costs are being effectively managed.

Requirements

  • One (1) year of previous Environmental Services and/or healthcare experience required.
  • Previous supervisory experience is preferred, and equivalent education may be substituted for experience.
  • Valid GA Driver's License required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Associates or bachelor's degree highly preferred.
  • Registered/Certified Executive Housekeeper (REH/CEH), Certified Healthcare Environmental Services Professional (CHESP) preferred.
