Role Overview: This position involves serving as a substitute in the Food and Nutrition department, contributing to the efficient operation of food services across multiple locations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the preparation, handling, and serving of food.
- Adhere to departmental protocols and health regulations.
- Support the cleaning of kitchenware, including pots, pans, and utensils, using approved methods.
- Engage in the delivery of high-quality meals to students and staff.
- Be available for flexible work hours as needed.
- Participate in maintaining cleanliness and organization in food service areas.
- Foster positive communication with all individuals served by the Food and Nutrition department.
- Represent the department with professionalism and positivity.
- Attend training sessions and meetings as required.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Ability to collaborate effectively with a diverse group of individuals.
- Enthusiasm for working in a team-oriented environment.
- Willingness to learn and adapt to new tasks.
- Physical capability to lift up to 30 lbs.
Work Schedule: Flexible hours based on operational needs.
Compensation: Hourly rate of $14.00.
Physical Requirements: This role necessitates standing, walking, and using hands for various tasks. Employees may need to lift and move items weighing up to 50 lbs and work in environments with higher than average noise levels and temperatures.
Working Conditions: Employees will work in various kitchen and cafeteria settings, often on damp floors and with known food allergens.
