We are seeking a highly qualified and experienced Assistant Professor of Elementary Mathematics Education to join our team at the University of Alabama. This is a tenure-track position that requires a strong research agenda and a commitment to teaching excellence.
Responsibilities- Develop and maintain an active research agenda in mathematics education, with a focus on elementary education.
- Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in mathematics education, with a focus on grades PK-6.
- Collaborate with colleagues to pursue external funding opportunities in mathematics education.
- Advise and mentor graduate students in mathematics education.
- Engage in professional service to the department, university, and professional organizations.
- Ph.D. in Elementary Education, Curriculum and Instruction, or a related field with a mathematics education focus.
- Demonstrated professional experience working with elementary students, with a minimum of 2 years of experience.
- Ability to pursue a research agenda with the potential for external funding in mathematics education.
- Ability to teach university courses focused on grades PK-6 mathematics education.
- Ability to collaborate with colleagues and engage in professional service.
- Experience teaching university mathematics education courses.
- Experience working with diverse student populations.
- Experience working in collaborative settings.
- Demonstrated research expertise through publications and presentations.
