Position: Probation Counselor Assistant

Salary: $4,535.00/month - Plus Excellent Benefits

Department: Community Justice - Juvenile


Role Summary:

The Probation Counselor Assistant plays a crucial role in the transportation and supervision of youth involved in the juvenile justice system. This position is responsible for monitoring the activities of youth offenders who are either awaiting adjudication or have been adjudicated, ensuring they adhere to the conditions of their release and participate in alternative programs.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide transportation for youth offenders to various appointments and activities.
  • Monitor compliance with probation rules, court orders, and individual case plans.
  • Engage directly with youth and their families, offering support and guidance.
  • Collaborate with Probation Counselors to assist in the management of youth cases.
  • Facilitate connections between youth, their families, and social service providers.

Work Schedule:

This position requires flexibility, including the possibility of evening and weekend shifts. The work schedule may vary based on specific assignments and may include on-call duties.


Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED; an Associate's degree in Criminal Justice or Human Services is preferred.
  • Minimum age of 21 years.
  • Possession of a valid Driver's License.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in computer usage.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
  • Successful completion of a comprehensive background check and drug screening.
  • Current CPR and First Aid certification.
