As a Physician Assistant (PA) or Advanced Practice Nurse (APN) focusing on Urology, you will play a vital role in patient care. Your responsibilities will include collaborating with physicians to assess patients, performing thorough medical histories and physical examinations, ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests, prescribing medications under physician supervision, and providing essential patient education.

In addition to managing inpatient and outpatient care, the PA/APN will act as a supportive member of the surgical team, working closely with Primary and Alternate Supervising Physicians. Your professional interactions will extend to medical and surgical administrative staff, as well as patients.

This role requires active engagement in daily surgical rounds, conferences, clinics, and procedures, where you will provide technical assistance and ensure continuity of care during both scheduled and emergency situations. Under direct supervision, the PA/APN will assist surgeons during operations, striving for optimal patient outcomes.

Moreover, the PA/APN is tasked with coordinating and delivering high-quality patient care in collaboration with physicians, residents, and nursing staff. This position is crucial in facilitating effective patient management and care delivery.

Position Requirements:

Minimum Education:

Required: Bachelor's Degree

Specify Degree(s): NCCPA certification

Minimum Experience:

Required: Less than one year of relevant job experience

Preferred: 3-5 years of relevant job experience

Licensure/Certifications:

Required: Certified Physician Assistant (NCCPA)

CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation)

ACLS

Other: Graduate of a Physician Assistant Program, NCCPA certification, Licensed in the State of Illinois
