We are seeking an experienced Advanced Practice Nurse to join our team at Associated Urological Specialists LLC. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care, collaborating with physicians and other healthcare professionals, and contributing to the development of evidence-based policies and procedures.
Key Responsibilities- Prescribe and dispense medication as authorized by state licensure
- Collect, order, and interpret lab work and diagnostic studies under agreed-upon protocols
- Develop and implement plans of care, evaluate and document patient response
- Provide patient and family education, organize referrals and consultations as needed
- Participate in research, promote cost-effective delivery of care, and participate in daily/weekly management team meetings
- Collaborate with physicians, consultants, community agencies, and institutions to improve clinical services and resolve identified problems
- Coordinate nursing services with all other departments, promote customer service, and respond to patient complaints
- Role-model, consult, and educate clinical personnel to improve nursing practice and patient outcomes
- Lead interdisciplinary groups to implement innovative patient care programs, promote proactive system redesign for patient and staff safety, and contribute to staff knowledge of ethical issues
- Master's Degree in Nursing, prepared as a Nurse Practitioner or Clinical Nurse Specialist
- Current DEA license in the state of IL, certification as a Urology Nurse preferred
- CPR certification, ACLS a plus, post-graduate diploma in Urology Nursing preferable
- Participation in continuing education, yearly OSHA and CLIA training required
- Minimum 2 years of professional nursing experience, preferably in a urology practice setting, and a minimum of 3 years in nursing administration or a comparable management position
- Knowledge of current federal and state laws and regulations that apply to the practice of nursing in a urology setting
- Strong organizational and time management skills, ability to prioritize responsibilities, define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
- Consultation and collaboration essential skills for APNs
