Responsibilities

Job Overview:

Accountable for overseeing the daily functions of a team or multiple teams within a specific facility or operational area, ensuring adherence to established policies and protocols.

Engages in the interpretation and execution of organizational policies and procedures. Guarantees compliance among Partners with established practices and ensures adequate training for staff. Compiles relevant reports and reviews current processes to assess operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities include the following; additional duties may be assigned as required:

  • Offers technical training, coaching, and development opportunities to Team Leaders. Utilizes performance metrics (Partner retention, injury rates, timely performance feedback, Partner input) to provide constructive feedback to Team Leaders.
  • Ensures that the facility adheres to both internal and external policies, procedures, guidelines, and governance.
  • Develops and implements a communication strategy to disseminate tactical and strategic plans and initiatives to Partners. Regularly reviews performance expectations to ensure alignment with organizational goals.
  • Proactively identifies and engages in critical situations that may affect operations and customer service.
  • Conducts demand forecasting, monitors Partner retention, and assesses appropriate staffing levels.
  • Establishes expectations and objectives related to the facility's key performance indicators. Provides guidance and support to ensure the facility achieves these objectives.
  • Informs Team Leaders of operational targets and secures their commitment.
  • Identifies opportunities for process enhancements that impact customer service. Understands customer challenges and objectives and formulates plans to address their requirements.
  • Sets standards for a clean, safe, well-organized, and pest-free facility. Ensures all sanitation and safety concerns are promptly addressed. Responsible for the maintenance and execution of all HACCP protocols.
  • Monitors, analyzes, and communicates the facility's safety requirements.
  • Participates in and supports divisional strategic initiatives. Develops strategies to achieve both short-term and long-term business goals.
  • Spends the majority of time exercising independent judgment in making employment-related business decisions or effectively recommending such decisions, including but not limited to product and department strategies, hiring, promoting, disciplining, suspending, discharging, rewarding, or otherwise addressing Partner-related matters.
Preferred Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • 4 or more years of relevant industry experience
  • 3 or more years of management experience with extensive knowledge in distribution and logistics operations.
  • Advanced understanding of compliance standards in related areas: industry, OSHA, EEOC, and Employment Laws
  • Attendance and completion of Leadership & Development Classes as assigned

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; demonstrated experience in delivering presentations to superiors, peers, and subordinates
  • Advanced analytical and project management capabilities
  • Strong negotiation and influencing skills
  • Proficient in utilizing internal and external software systems at an advanced level, including creating spreadsheets, graphs, charts, and preparing presentations
  • Knowledge of financial reports relevant to the functional area
  • Demonstrated experience in process improvement initiatives
Physical and Other Requirements

  • Ability to function in a fast-paced distribution and office environment
  • Willingness to work flexible schedules, including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Able to work in various temperature zones
  • Travel by car or airplane with overnight stays may be required
