Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Track Safety and Security Officer to join our team at Presque Isle Downs & Casino. As a key member of our security team, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety and security of all visitors, employees, and properties related to horse racing.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure the safety and security of all visitors, employees, and properties related to horse racing.
  • Enforce track rules and regulations, and issue citations as necessary.
  • Provide physical security and a visual presence in the stable area.
  • Issue parking permits to authorized individuals and ensure parking regulations are followed.
  • Provide security for Jockey Room personnel and ensure only authorized individuals gain access to the Jockey Room quarters.
  • Maintain organization in the Winner's Circle and the Paddock area.
  • Limit access to the track via the Shoot Gate entrance and the South Track Gate entrance.
  • Perform scheduled foot patrol rounds of the stable area.
  • Prepare, file, and update appropriate paperwork.
  • Write incident reports on any/all reportable events.
  • Request identification from young-looking individuals who attempt to enter the track viewing area and place an appropriate colored wristband on such individuals.
  • Maintain order among guests on the outside apron and assist with crowd control.

Requirements:

  • Security experience is helpful but not required.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills are essential.
  • Ability to perform job duties in a respectful and polite manner.
  • Presentation of a neat appearance is required.
  • Ability to read and write reports.
  • Ability to sit or stand for prolonged periods of time.
  • Ability to obtain appropriate licensing.

Education:

A high school diploma or GED is required.
