Job Title: Instructional Design Specialist

Job Summary:

Great Lakes Credit Union is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Instructional Design Specialist to join our team. As an Instructional Design Specialist, you will play a critical role in creating engaging and effective learning experiences for our employees.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Learning Material Development: Assist in the creation and design of e-learning modules, presentations, manuals, and other training materials to support GLCU's learning initiatives.
  • Content Research & Analysis: Conduct research to identify learning needs and best practices. Assist in gathering and analyzing data to ensure the content is aligned with organizational goals and employee requirements.
  • Instructional Design: Collaborate with subject matter experts to convert complex information into easy-to-understand learning content using instructional design principles.
  • Multimedia Integration: Support the integration of multimedia elements (videos, graphics, quizzes, etc.) to enhance the engagement and effectiveness of learning programs.
  • Learning Management System (LMS) Support: Assist with uploading and managing courses in GLCU's LMS. Track learner participation and performance, and help troubleshoot any technical issues.
  • Evaluation & Feedback: Collect feedback from learners to assess the effectiveness of training materials and make necessary adjustments. Support ongoing improvement of instructional programs based on this data.
  • Project Management: Assist in managing the development and delivery of multiple learning projects simultaneously, ensuring deadlines are met and projects are delivered with high quality.
  • Learning Technology: Stay updated on trends and innovations in instructional design and e-learning technologies. Provide recommendations for new tools or methodologies that could improve training effectiveness.

Qualifications:

  • Currently pursuing a degree in Instructional Design, Education, Human Resources, Communication, or a related field.
  • Interest in creating innovative and impactful learning experiences.
  • Strong communication skills—both written and verbal.
  • Familiarity with instructional design principles and adult learning theory.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
  • Proficient understanding of e-learning authoring tools (e.g., Articulate Storyline, Canva, or platforms).
  • Ability to analyze content and structure it in a clear, engaging, and effective way.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time management skills.
  • High level of professionalism and ability to work independently or as part of a team.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with graphic design or video editing software (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite, Camtasia).
  • Previous experience in developing e-learning content or educational materials.
  • Familiarity with learning management systems (LMS) and other digital learning tools.
