Job Description

**About the Role**

Red Wing Shoe Company is seeking a highly skilled Quality Assurance Manager to lead our quality initiatives and ensure compliance with company requirements. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for driving optimization of quality processes and people capabilities to achieve business performance metrics.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead Quality Team: Manage, empower, and develop an effective functional quality team through appropriate selection, coaching/training/development, reward/recognition, communication, and enforcement/role modeling of company policies and procedures.
  • Compliance and Regulatory: Provide leadership for assuring compliance with company quality and regulatory requirements.
  • Quality Strategies: Participate in development and effectively implement quality strategies to optimize current capabilities, identify future needs, and formulate/implement action plans.
  • Quality Improvement Projects: Oversee quality improvement projects, ensuring execution to plan, early identification/remediation of corrective measures, and engagement of appropriate stakeholders.
  • Product Lifecycle: Provide quality expertise throughout the product lifecycle, including product creation, commercialization, domestic/3rd party manufacturing, shipping, and customer inquiries.
  • Product Traceability: Develop product traceability processes and systems and provide leadership for execution.
  • Post-Market Quality: Ensure the Post-Market Quality team evaluates field performance, analyzes field performance trends against goals/predictions, and recommends corrective action when necessary.
  • Critical Quality Issues: Provide program management support and leadership for resolution of critical quality issues, including oversight and guidance of the preparation of impact assessments.
  • CAPA Board Member: Provide critical oversight to investigations and actions.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Quality Service: Maintain quality service by developing and maintaining department-level quality system procedures (QSPs) and standards.
  • Company Assets: Safeguard the assets of the Company, treating all technical developments, operational data, information on salaries and wages, customer lists, and similar data as required.
  • Governmental Laws: Comply with all governmental laws and regulations that pertain to the responsibilities of the position.
  • Industry Standards: Assure Company awareness of industry standards and new/innovative practices by establishing and maintaining strong industry networks and continuous learning.
  • Other Duties: Complete other duties as assigned from time to time by your manager.

Requirements:

  • Education and Experience: Bachelor of Science degree and 5-7 years progressively responsible related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Manufacturing Experience: Experience with Footwear, Leather, or Apparel Manufacturing highly desirable.
