Job Title: Clinical Medical Director

Optum New Mexico seeks a seasoned Clinical Medical Director to lead our clinical operations and drive quality, cost, and service excellence in healthcare delivery. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for directing, managing, and evaluating all clinical operations, ensuring seamless integration with our senior leaders.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide strategic leadership and communication to physician leaders, physicians, and clinical staff.
  • Partner with medical management staff to promote clinical process improvement and access enhancement.
  • Lead population health initiatives to align with our organization's mission.
  • Develop and implement patient engagement strategies and quality improvement plans.
  • Ensure effective quality assurance and risk management processes.
  • Manage cost-effective delivery of healthcare within clinical practice management operations.
  • Oversee compliance with regulatory standards and accreditation requirements.
  • Complete ongoing professional medical management development programs.
  • Recruit, develop, and retain high-performing providers.
  • Establish strong partnerships with key departments, including risk management, pharmacy, and underwriting.

Requirements:

  • Fully licensed as a physician in New Mexico.
  • Board certification in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine, or in the process of obtaining certification.
  • New Mexico Pharmacy/DEA Registration, if applicable.
  • Minimum 3-5 years of senior leadership experience in a medical group or network.
  • 5-7 years of experience as a practicing physician, preferably in a medical group.
  • Experience in medical utilization management, quality assurance, and risk management.
  • Strong knowledge of clinical operations, management practices, and human relations.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to use Microsoft Office applications.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's Degree in a related field.
