Memory Care Director Job Description

Vitality Living is seeking a compassionate and experienced Memory Care Director to join our team. As a Memory Care Director, you will be responsible for maintaining the dignity, excitement, and safety of our memory care residents through developing stimulating activity programming, ensuring their physical needs are met, and promoting a safe working environment for memory care team members.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Implement engaging programming specifically catered to the needs of residents living with dementia
  • Supervise caregiving team working in the Memory Care community
  • Work closely with Director of Wellness to ensure resident safety and quality of care and report any concerns
  • Participate in leader on duty rotation
  • Report resident safety concerns to Executive Director and Wellness Director
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or GED
  • 2-3 years of experience as a Memory Care Director at an Assisted Living/Memory Care Community
  • Extensive knowledge of Alzheimer's disease and other related forms of dementia
  • Experience in addressing and responding to the unmet needs of individuals living with dementia
  • Exceptional teambuilding and leadership skills
  • Knowledge of state regulations and compliance management
  • Effective communication skills
  • Strong financial judgment
  • Maintains basic knowledge of computer software and internet platforms, including email
  • Desire to work with older adults and their families
