Job Title: Activities Director

Skilled Nursing of Hendersonville is seeking a qualified Activities Director to join our team.

Job Summary:

The Activities Director is responsible for developing and implementing a stimulating activity program that meets the social, emotional, physical, and spiritual needs of our residents. This includes planning and coordinating activities, events, and programs that cater to the diverse needs and interests of our residents.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive activity program that addresses the needs of all residents, from active to those in declining physical abilities.
  • Coordinate and verify that assistance is provided to residents for activities and events as necessary.
  • Provide in-room activities for residents who are unable to attend daily events.
  • Create an ongoing calendar of activities that meets multiple needs and is accessible and appealing to both men and women of all ages and abilities.
  • Solicit the involvement of the community in planning facility activities and events.
Requirements:
  • Degree in Activities Development, Recreational Therapy, Elder Care, or Social Work.
  • Completion of the DSS-required 48-hour Activities Training course.
  • Prefer one year of activity programming experience with agencies responsible for seniors.
  • Demonstrates an interest in working with a senior population.
  • Demonstrates a warm, friendly, and outgoing personality.
  • Willing to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, for planned activities and events.
  • Maintains a current driver's license in North Carolina and has a clean driving record.
