Southwestern Vermont Medical Center (SVMC) is seeking a board-certified pediatrician to join our team of dedicated healthcare professionals. As a pediatrician at SVMC, you will have the opportunity to provide exceptional care to children in Bennington, VT, and surrounding areas.

Our pediatric practice is committed to delivering high-quality, patient-centered care to children from birth to age 18. We offer a range of services, including well-child visits, sick visits, and specialty care for children with chronic conditions.

We are seeking a pediatrician who is passionate about delivering exceptional care to children and their families. As a member of our team, you will have the opportunity to work with a talented group of healthcare professionals who are dedicated to providing the highest level of care to our patients.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide clinical and related administrative services to ensure timely care of patients.
  • Abide by the Dartmouth Health Bylaws for the Professional Staff and Code of Conduct.
  • Review records and detailed medical history from patient(s).
  • Determine appropriate diagnosis (diagnoses) and treatment plan(s).
  • Determine and order appropriate screening and diagnostic tests and studies.
  • Obtain informed consent for treatment diagnostic and therapeutic procedures and studies.
  • Interpret and evaluate test and study results.
  • Prescribe medications, treatments, and medical devices in accordance within specialty scope of practice and applicable rules and regulations.
  • Initiate referrals to other providers as necessary.
  • Initiate admission/discharge of patients, if applicable.
  • Provide consultation, education, and counseling regarding the management of acute and chronic illnesses and injuries. Encourage behavioral change and assist with self-management skills to improve overall health, within specialty scope of practice.
  • Complete appropriate documentation in a timely manner.
  • Provide patient and family-centered care.
  • Insure the patient's right to privacy, confidentiality and informed consent.
  • Supervise APP's as directed.
  • Participate in continuing medical education (CME).
  • Participate in quality and patient safety initiatives
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Vermont Medical License - Current or eligible for ABMS Board Certification (to be obtained within 5 years)
  • Active hospital staff membership
