Job Description

The Amherst Group Limited is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Portfolio Management Analyst to join its Merchant Banking business unit. As a key member of the team, you will play a crucial role in strategic modeling and capital planning, collaborating closely with various functions to drive business growth and optimize portfolio performance.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Financial Modeling: Develop and maintain complex financial models, including cash flow projections, fund-level waterfalls, and IRR calculations, to inform investment decisions and optimize portfolio returns.
  • Investor Relations: Prepare and present financial reports, pitches, and marketing materials to investors, senior executives, and the Board of Directors, ensuring timely and accurate communication of portfolio performance.
  • Collaboration and Analysis: Work closely with the team and other departments to identify opportunities for growth, improve portfolio composition, and drive strategic decision-making.
  • Ad Hoc Analysis: Provide analytical support for special projects and ad hoc requests from investors, senior management, and other stakeholders.
Requirements:
  • Education: Bachelor's degree and MBA/CA/CFA with a strong understanding of financial markets.
  • Experience: 1-3 years of experience in banking, consulting, financial services, or real estate, with a proven analytical mindset.
  • Technical Skills: Intermediate-advanced skills in MS Office Excel and PowerPoint, with experience in using Yardi, Tableau, and SQL a plus.
  • Time Management: Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, meet deadlines, and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
