Job Summary
The Senior Analyst for Liquidity Risk Oversight is a pivotal role within Flagstar Bank, reporting directly to the Director of Liquidity Governance. This position is essential in ensuring adherence to all relevant regulations and in the preparation of vital committee documentation concerning liquidity risk. The analyst will aid in the identification of liquidity risks, contribute to the development and maintenance of policies and procedures that accurately represent team operations while aligning with regulatory mandates, and engage in examinations and audits related to liquidity risk.
Compensation Range: $84,000 - $140,048.77
Job Responsibilities:
- Perform in-depth analysis and generate reports and presentations that effectively communicate intricate issues and regulatory obligations to both internal and external stakeholders.
- Assist in the formulation and management of liquidity risk policies and procedures, including the Contingency Funding Plan.
- Collaborate with internal partners regarding liquidity risk, encompassing various lines of business, independent review functions, model validation, and internal audit.
- Engage in and provide necessary information for diverse examination processes related to liquidity risk, including regulatory horizontal exams, second line of defense, and internal audits.
- Deliver data analysis and reporting to support the liquidity risk identification process, limits, and early warning indicators.
- Execute special projects and undertake additional duties as required.
- Consistently comply with regulatory and compliance policies and standards relevant to the role, completing necessary compliance training. Responsible for maintaining adherence to applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations.
Required Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor's Degree (4 years or equivalent) in Finance, Mathematics, Economics, Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience: A minimum of 3 years working within a team managing liquidity risk for a Category IV or larger banking institution.
- Knowledge: Familiarity with key liquidity regulations applicable to Category IV banking institutions, including Reg YY, FR 2052a, SR Letter 12-7, SR Letter 10-6, and others.
- Education: Master's Degree (or equivalent postgraduate qualification) in Finance, Mathematics, Economics, Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience: Experience interacting with regulatory bodies for Category IV or higher institutions and participation in oversight examinations.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Access, Project, Visio, and Publisher.
- Focused on efficiency creation, root cause analysis, and process enhancements.
- Strong problem-solving and strategic thinking abilities, with a knack for quickly identifying issues and proposing solutions.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, capable of preparing presentations for senior management.
- Comfortable in a fast-paced, complex environment; adept at collaborative problem-solving through open and constructive dialogue.
- Detail-oriented, responsive, and proactive, fostering clarity, transparency, consistency, and widespread understanding across the organization.
- An energetic, efficient, and resourceful team player who takes ownership of work and meets tight deadlines.
- Willingness to travel up to 10% as required.
- Physical demands (ADA): No unusual physical exertion is involved.
