This role is pivotal in the preparation and delivery of wholesome meals for students, ensuring a safe and healthy dining experience.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Oversees the entire process of food preparation and service, adhering to established menus and portion sizes as outlined by yield guidelines.
Assigns and executes cleaning tasks, which include sweeping and mopping floors, sanitizing equipment and workspaces, as well as dish and pot washing.
Manages the ordering and receipt of all food, beverages, and paper supplies necessary for daily operations.Prepares coffee, maintains beverage stations, and organizes hot and cold food service areas.
Delivers food to staff, students, and for catering events as required.
Ensures adherence to all local, state, and federal health regulations regarding safe food handling. Complies with all security protocols and guidelines set forth by the client location. Checks and organizes incoming supplies.
Administers and follows designated break schedules.Participates in safety committees.
Attends all required training sessions.
Oversees cash handling and POS operations conducted by team members, verifying all financial deposits.
ADDITIONAL DUTIES:
Upholds all policies and procedures established by Whitsons at all times. Supports the objectives and mission statement outlined by Whitsons.
Meets all mandated food handling certification requirements. Performs other assigned duties as necessary.EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
High school diploma or equivalent.
Completion of all required Whitsons and other mandated training programs.
CERTIFICATIONS:
ServSafe certification.
OTHER QUALIFICATIONS:Proficient in English to understand and execute job responsibilities. A minimum of one year of professional experience in food service is required. Always maintains a positive and professional demeanor.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
The physical demands described are representative of those that must be met by a team member to successfully perform the essential functions of this position.
While executing the duties of this role, the team member is frequently required to sit, walk, talk, and hear. Utilize hands and fingers to feel, handle, or operate objects, tools, or controls, and reach with hands and arms.
Must be able to stand for the majority of the workday and walk back and forth.Lift and/or move up to 40 pounds, with occasional lifting while turning side to side.
Specific vision abilities required include close vision and the ability to adjust focus.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
The work primarily occurs in a kitchen and serving area.
Standing for most of the workday is necessary. The role involves movement in and out of storage areas and freezers, with exposure to extreme temperatures (both hot and cold) due to cooking and refrigeration equipment.
The noise level in the work environment can range from moderate to loud.The responsibilities outlined above are intended to illustrate the various types of work and duties that may be performed.
