Clinical Laboratory Technologist II/III/IV

We are seeking a highly skilled Clinical Laboratory Technologist II/III/IV to join our team at Stony Brook Medicine. As a key member of our laboratory team, you will be responsible for providing clinical services to our patient population, maintaining safe laboratory practices, and adhering to our high standards of excellence.
Key Responsibilities- Perform clinical analysis and testing in the Department of Laboratories.
- Conduct routine instrument maintenance and troubleshooting to ensure proper instrument performance.
- Adhere to quality control policies and procedures.
- Proficient in computer protocols and adhere to all SBUH and departmental policies and protocols.
- Perform high complexity coagulation/chemistry testing using manual and automated methods.
- Assist in implementing and validating new procedures.
- Engage in continuing education to enhance the department.
- Interact professionally with nursing staff, physicians, support staff, peers, and other hospital community members.
- Perform other clinical duties as assigned.
Required:
- NYS licensure as a Clinical Laboratory Technologist or documented eligibility.
- SL-1: 0-2 years of demonstrated relevant experience.
- SL-2: 3-5 years of demonstrated relevant experience.
- SL-3: 6 years of demonstrated relevant experience.
Preferred:
- Generalist with a strong background in Hematology and Chemistry.
- ASCP Certification.
- Bachelor of Science in Medical Technology/Biological or Life Sciences.
- Master's Degree.
Additional Requirements:
- Resume/CV must be included with the online application.
- Pass a pre-employment physical examination and obtain medical clearance from Stony Brook Medicine's Employee Health Services.
- Complete electronic reference check with a minimum of three professional references.
- Successfully complete a 4-panel drug screen.
- Meet Regulatory Requirements for pre-employment screenings.
- Provide a copy of any required New York State license(s)/certificate(s).
