Nurse Practitioner

Under the direction of the Nurse Manager, the Registered Nurse will provide comprehensive nursing care to patients and their families in a multi-site setting. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills, interpersonal skills, and a strong ability to deescalate stressful situations.
Key Responsibilities- Assess patients before imaging procedures and monitor their status throughout the process.
- Establish intravenous access for contrast and medication administration, ensuring safe and accurate administration.
- Perform physical, psychological, and cognitive status assessments of patients, including POC testing for Glucose, Creatinine, and Pregnancy.
- Explain procedures to patients, initiate care and discharge plans, and identify and correct problems as needed.
- Responsible for maintaining safety equipment, reporting critical occurrences, and ensuring proper storage of medication and supplies.
- Graduate of an Accredited School of Nursing required.
- New York State RN License required.
- Current BLS/ACLS certification required.
- 2 years' prior experience in a similar role.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to deescalate stressful situations.
- Strong ability to make sound judgments and execute appropriate actions based on patient needs and facility policies.
- Basic proficiency in computer skills, including Electronic Health Systems, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, and email systems.
- Ability to move around freely and assist in lifting physically compromised patients.
