Position Overview:

The Division of Pediatric Nephrology at the University of Minnesota is in search of a dedicated and board-certified/eligible nephrologist for a full-time role at the Assistant or Associate Professor level on an academic trajectory.

Role Responsibilities:

  • We are looking for a passionate clinician with specialized training in Pediatric Nephrology.
  • This position encompasses clinical responsibilities at M Health Fairview University of Minnesota Masonic Children's Hospital and affiliated children's healthcare facilities.
  • Additional duties will involve engaging in the education of medical students, residents, and fellows, alongside clinical practice through UMPhysicians, and contributing to service initiatives for the department, medical school, and the broader medical community.
  • The ideal candidate will engage in research endeavors and academic activities, either as a collaborator or as an independent investigator, and will participate in professional development activities tailored to their career aspirations.

The Division of Pediatric Nephrology ranks among the leading pediatric nephrology programs nationally. We maintain a robust dialysis and transplant program for children facing end-stage kidney failure, and we proudly report the highest success rate for infant kidney transplants globally. Our pediatric nephrologists collaborate closely with various specialties, including pediatric urology, transplant surgery, pediatric psychology, nutrition, and social work, to ensure a comprehensive approach to managing kidney disease in children. Our faculty members are actively involved in clinical research focusing on glomerular diseases and kidney transplantation.

Qualifications Required:

  • Completion of an accredited ACGME pediatric residency and nephrology fellowship training program.
  • Board eligible or certified.
  • Possession or eligibility for Minnesota Board of Medical Practice Licensure.
  • Capability to obtain and maintain DEA certification in Minnesota.
  • Fulfillment of credentialing and privileges criteria.
  • Authorization to work in the United States.
