Job Title: Medical Records Assistant

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Medical Records Assistant to join our team at the State Correctional Institution (SCI) at Huntingdon. As a Medical Records Assistant, you will be responsible for preparing, classifying, and abstracting medical reports for SCI Huntingdon.

Your duties will include creating medical records for individual inmates, filing medical reports in inmate medical records, compiling all inmate medical records for transfer, and assisting in medical data entry. You will review records for completeness, accuracy, and compliance, and refer inadequate records to health care staff for corrections.

This is a full-time employment opportunity with a salary of $39,384.00 annually. The work schedule is 37.5 hours per week, with work hours from 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.

Required qualifications include one year of clerical experience in a medical records department of a hospital, or ambulatory acute medical care setting or a licensed nursing facility, which has included six months of experience under the general direction or oversight by a registered Medical Records Technician or Administrator; and graduation from high school. Successful completion of basic training in Elizabethtown, PA is also required.
