Electrical Engineer Intern/Co-op Opportunity

CMTA Inc, a leading engineering firm, is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Electrical Engineer Intern/Co-op to join our team for the Spring 2025 semester.

Job Summary

This is an excellent opportunity for students pursuing a degree in Electrical Engineering or Architectural Engineering to gain hands-on experience in electrical design and implementation. As an Electrical Engineer Intern/Co-op, you will work closely with our experienced engineers to develop and refine your skills in electrical system design, power distribution, lighting and controls, and fire alarm systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Learn and implement electrical system basics, including power distribution, lighting and controls, and fire alarm systems
  • Produce detailed layout and equipment details of electrical systems of buildings
  • Assist the design team in assembling organized sets of drawings
  • May assist in data collection and/or field verification
  • Work in conjunction with designers and engineers to develop all aspects of a project
Requirements
  • Pursuing a bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Architectural Engineering
  • Strong interest in Building Systems Electrical Engineering
  • AutoCAD and REVIT experience preferred
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Ability to work both independently and with a team
  • Ability to work full time in the Columbus office throughout the co-op term
