Software Quality Engineer Job Description

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Software Quality Engineer to join our team at Lockheed Martin Corporation. As a Software Quality Engineer, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining Systems and Software Quality Engineering common processes that are aligned with AS9100 Quality Management System, Program and Customer requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develops, modifies and applies quality principles to the development and use of software and software-based systems for make and/or buy software products.
  • Develops overall operating criteria to ensure implementation of the software quality program according to project, process and contract requirements and objectives; designs and implements software development and maintenance processes.
  • Defines audit strategy to ensure compliance to systems / software processes.
  • Designs, specifies and conducts test methods for software inspection, verification and validation.
  • Evaluates and analyzes software quality systems for deficiency identification and correction; ensures measures meet acceptable reliability standards.
  • Performs software product reviews against contractual, technical and / or process requirements.
  • Reviews requirement specifications, design documents, source code, test plans and procedures, materials, tools, techniques, and methodologies.
  • Performs or directs verification of software requirement allocations, traceability, and testability.
  • Interfaces with systems and software development personnel, test and evaluation personnel, and project managers.

Requirements:

  • STEM degree at the bachelor level or above preferably in one of the following disciplines: Computer Science, Computer Engineering or Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience/combined education
  • Experience with product development phases
  • Demonstrated basic understanding of audit techniques

Desired Skills:

  • STEM degree at the bachelor level or above preferred
  • Lean Six Sigma (Green Belt)
  • Hands on experience with Agile Methodologies (SCRUM, Kanban, SaFE, etc.)
  • Strong knowledge of Industry recognized Quality Systems / Models such as Capability Maturity Model Integrated (CMMI), QMS System Audit (AS9100, ISO9001)
  • Experience interfacing with Government customers and stakeholders
  • Secret security clearance with an investigation within the last 6 years.

Security Clearance Statement:
