Opportunity Overview:

The Multi-Systemic Therapist (MST) is responsible for delivering multi-systemic therapy to adolescents displaying persistent delinquent behaviors or substance misuse, who are at significant risk of being placed outside their homes. Services are offered to both the youth and their families in a home-based environment at times that suit the family's schedule. MST is an intensive, family-centered, and community-oriented treatment approach that addresses the various factors contributing to serious delinquent behavior in young offenders. The therapist employs a comprehensive intervention strategy that necessitates intricate collaboration with interconnected systems, including individual, family, and external (peers, educational institutions, neighborhoods, judicial system) elements. Interventions may be required across any combination of these systems. Emergency support is available 24/7.

Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will possess experience in providing therapy within a home-based context, familiarity with the child welfare and community mental health systems, as well as the juvenile court system, and expertise in family crisis intervention. A Master's degree in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, Marriage & Family Therapy, or a related field, along with appropriate licensure in the State of Michigan, is required. A valid driver's license is also necessary.
