Role OverviewThe Senior Manager of Corporate Accounting is responsible for overseeing the month-end closing activities, ensuring the integrity of the general ledger, and supervising journal entry assessments and account reconciliations.
Key Responsibilities- Direct the month-end closing procedures, ensuring accurate maintenance of the general ledger and thorough review of journal entries and reconciliations.
- Provide mentorship and practical support to team members, ensuring timely completion of tasks and accuracy in account reconciliations while fostering a culture of excellence and accountability.
- Oversee the preparation and review of financial reporting packages on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis.
- Manage the consolidation of monthly financial statements utilizing Oracle's FCCS tool and supervise the elimination of inter-company balances.
- Conduct detailed reviews and analyses of accounting transactions, financial statements, and management reports across various entities, ensuring precision and proper classification of financial statements.
- Oversee the documentation for transaction flows related to 1031 exchanges, intercompany settlements, and distributions.
- Act as the primary contact for the annual external audit of the corporate business unit and assist with additional audit processes.
- Identify and spearhead initiatives aimed at enhancing departmental efficiency and effectiveness.
- Ensure timely completion of tax-related deliverables in collaboration with the Corporate Tax Department.
- Minimum of 12 years of extensive accounting experience, showcasing significant leadership in managerial roles within a reputable Public Accounting firm or a complex corporate environment.
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or a related discipline; CPA certification is preferred.
- Demonstrated experience in managing teams of five or more and collaborating effectively with a broad range of internal stakeholders.
- Proficient in Oracle ERP systems, particularly in GL Manager functionalities.
- Expertise in automating processes within Oracle modules, contributing to improved operational efficiency.
- Proven ability to lead successful system implementations and maintain stable operations thereafter.
- Advanced proficiency in Excel, with strong skills in financial modeling and analysis.
- Results-driven approach with a history of meeting tight deadlines while managing multiple priorities.
- Exceptional leadership capabilities, with a focus on developing high-performing teams.
- Strong communication skills, capable of articulating complex financial insights to diverse audiences.
Compensation: $160,000 - $180,000, with potential for a discretionary bonus based on skills and experience.
