About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Dental Assistant to join our team at Weeki Wachee Dental Care. As a Dental Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and supporting our dental team in delivering high-quality services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Greet and welcome patients, ensuring a positive and comfortable experience throughout their dental journey.
  • Conduct thorough reviews of patient health histories to provide quality care.
  • Take and process x-rays and other diagnostic assessments using advanced technology.
  • Provide superior chairside assistance to supported dentists during various procedures, adhering to state dental practice acts.
  • Utilize Dentrix for patient scheduling and record-keeping, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
  • Prepare treatment rooms with strict adherence to safety protocols and OSHA/CDC recommendations.
  • Manage supply and inventory levels, placing and expediting orders as needed.
  • Partner with providers and team members to implement Heartland Dental systems and optimize office workflow.

Weeki Wachee Dental Care is a unique and dynamic dental practice that thrives on collaboration, communication, and community. As a member of our team, you will be part of a 15-person team that values camaraderie and support.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Working knowledge of dental procedures and terminology.
  • Experience working in a fast-paced, customer-centric environment.
  • Dental assistant certification and/or x-ray certification, if required under the state dental practice act.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Access to minimum PHI necessary for performing job-related functions, with regular HIPAA training and data safeguards.
Preferred Experience
  • 1+ years of experience in a dental setting.
  • Dentrix or other dental software experience.
  • Dental assisting school certification.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to perform essential duties satisfactorily, with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Prolonged periods of sitting and standing.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 45 pounds at times.
  • Availability to attend virtual training sessions periodically throughout the year.
