Responsibilities
  • Assist residents with bathing, toileting, oral hygiene, skin care, grooming, nail care, and dressing needs
  • Feed residents, provide bedside water, and transfer them to and from dining areas as needed
  • Respond to resident call lights and requests for assistance in a timely manner
  • Maintain resident rooms by making beds, changing linens, and organizing personal belongings
  • Observe and report any signs of change in residents' appetite, skin condition, or behaviors
  • Offer emotional support and actively listen to residents to develop trust and independence
  • Maintain confidentiality and protect resident rights and privacy
  • Document medical records and vital signs as required
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED (unless working under a student permit)
  • Certification by the State Department of Health CNA in good standing
  • Basic computer skills and knowledge of programs like Excel and Word
  • Understanding of safe and effective nursing practices within the State of Indiana
  • Interpersonal skills, including assisting licensed nurses and working independently
