Medical Assistant Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Medical Assistant to join our team at Preferred Primary Care Physicians, Inc. As a Medical Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and supporting our healthcare team.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist physicians and nurses with patient care, clerical, environmental, and organizational tasks.
  • Record patient data, including vital signs, height and weight, allergies, medications, chief complaint, and reason for visit.
  • Administer subcutaneous and intramuscular injections as directed by the physician.
  • Answer and return patient phone calls, contact pharmacies for prescriptions, and handle other patient telephone calls as directed.
  • Obtain patient record information, lab data, diagnostics, consults, and other necessary data for patient assessment.
  • Assist with exams and procedures, schedule tests and appointments, and prepare and maintain exam and treatment rooms.
  • Process instruments and equipment, inform physicians of patient reschedules or no-shows, and maintain confidentiality.
Requirements:
  • A high school diploma or GED is required.
  • Graduation from an accredited school of medical assisting is preferred.
  • Six months of medical assistant experience in a medical practice setting is preferred, but open to new graduate applicants.
